About Steve Sarette & Son Excavation

For Steve Sarette, heavy equipment operating is a way of life.

The Sarette family has been in the excavation business for over 40 years. In the early 1970s, Steve’s father Don Sarette started his own excavation and trucking company out of Goffstown New Hampshire. In the 1980s, Steve’s uncle Bob Sarette also started his own excavation service, focusing on construction and town sewer and water hookups as the housing boom in southern New Hampshire began to grow rapidly. Steve learned a lot from both his father and his uncle, having spent many hours in an excavator or turning a wrench to fix one.
 
As Don prepared for retirement, Steve formed his own excavation company in 2001 and named it “Steve Sarette & Son Excavation.” That’s because the Sarette family is now in the third-generation. Just like his dad, Michael is operating equipment, driving the trucks and learning the business for the next generation. Steve’s wife Melanie wears many hats from managing the office, to loading trucks and delivering landscape materials.
